Preti Taneja's debut novel WE THAT ARE YOUNG is a fiercely political, poetic tour de force which translates Shakespeare's King Lear to contemporary India. It has been hailed as a masterpiece by critics, and was picked as a book of the year including in The Hindu, The Sunday Times, the Spectator, and the Guardian. Preti was born and grew up in the UK to Indian parents; she studied Theology, trained in journalism and has worked as a human rights reporter and activist on minority rights worldwide. She is the co founder of the award-winning advocacy collective ERA Films, and the editor of the online anthology of art and words, Visual Verse.
